Theft Of a Motor Vehicle Valued $5k - $25k - Probation

August 2021

In the summer of 2021, police responded to a call regarding a missing vehicle. The complainant stated he had left the keys to his vehicle in the ignition, and when he returned they were gone. The next morning the vehicle itself was gone. Officers performed a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description of the stolen one. The driver, PT, admitted to having 'gotten' the vehicle from near his house. PT was transported to Lincoln Parish Detention Center. With PT's permission Mr. Lawrence negotiated a plea for three years supervised probation.
