December 2021

In the fall of 2019, police performed a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired licensing. Upon stopping the vehicle, police detected marijuana. The driver, identified as TA, admitted to having marijuana. Upon searching the vehicle, marijuana, narcotics, a firearm, and non-narcotic items were recovered. TA, the owner of the vehicle, and a lady identified as MG, and the third passenger, JG, were transported to Lincoln Parish Detention Center.

Defendant informed the Court that she wished to withdraw the former plea of not guilty and enter a plea of guilty in Count 1 to the amended charge of Simple Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana. The plea was accepted. Court sentenced the defendant to pay a fine of $100.00 and all costs of court. In default of paying the fine and costs, she is to serve a term of ten (10) days in the parish jail subject to public work. Execution of the sentence was deferred until December 2021. Upon the Court's acceptance of the defendant's plea, the remaining charges were dismissed.
