Carrying A Firearm Or Dangerous Weapon By A Student. - Probation

October 2022

A student of Grambling State University was arrested on campus for the felony charges of Possession With Intent To Distribute A Schedule I CDS, Illegal Possession Of Stolen Firearms, Carrying A Firearm Or Dangerous Weapon By A Student Or Nonstudent On School Property..., Violation Of Uniform CDS Law In A Drug-Free Zone, and the misdemeanor charges of Criminal Trespassing and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. The student's mother quickly called Lawrence Law Firm and had a consultation with Mr. Lawrence who immediately contacted Grambling State University Police Department and was furnished police reports as well as briefly spoke with the arresting officers.

Mr. Lawrence was quickly able to schedule a conference with the prosecutor and come to an agreement wherein, all charges relating to drugs would be dropped, carrying a firearm would be sentenced with probation, and upon the successful completion of probation the sentence would be vacated pursuant to article 893 of the Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure. After discussions with coaches and campus advisors the student was also permitted to return to campus and has since graduated with his bachelor's degree.

Since every case is different, the reproduction of these results cannot be guaranteed. However, if you would like to schedule a consultation, the attorneys of Lawrence Law Firm will look at the facts of your case with the same scrutiny and will work tirelessly to achieve the most favorable results.
