Grambling State University Police responded to a call about a young man, identified as Mr. DD, carrying a firearm inside of McCall Hall, on Grambling State University Campus. Mr. DD was approached by police, who secured the firearm. Mr. DD was brought outside, where he stated that he was carrying the firearm because he had recently been at a private firing range. Mr. DD was transported to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center by way of the GSU police department.

Mr. Lawrence conducted further investigation and spoke with prosecutors who agreed to reduce the charge to a misedemenor and place DD on probation and require a fine of $100.00 and all costs of court.
